Tour France’s Unesco sites with Deluxe France

France counts 38 UNESCO – listed World Heritage sites. Some are religious edifices.  Also various towns steeped in history are also considered as part of the World Heritage sites: such as the banks of the Seine in Paris. The historic center of Lyon and Strasbourg. You have also the Episcopal Ensemble in Avignon or the Port of the Moon in Bordeaux. More recently, the Episcopal City of Albi.

The Basilica and hills at Vezelay :

Vézelay is located at the heart of the regional nature reserve of Morvan, in Burgundy. The hill at Vézelay and its famous Roman basilica is as world heritage sites by Unesco since 1979.

Reims Cathedral in Champagne region :

Reims is located in the Champagne region. We call Reims the “city of coronations” or “city of kings”. These 4 buildings are Unesco world heritage since 1991: the Cathedral of Notre-Dame. The historical center of Avignon :

Avignon is located in Provence southern France. We also call Avignon the “City of the Popes”. Avignon has maintained its city walls and its historical center: the Papal Palace, the Episcopal ensemble and the Bridge of Avignon.Avignon is a Unesco world heritage sites since 1995. The city is also the sublime backdrop for an international theatre festival.

The Palace of Fontainebleau Unesco :

The Palace of Fontainebleau is located on the south-east of Paris. It has witnessed eight unbroken centuries of sovereign rule. Kings, queens, emperors and empresses, took great pains to embellish the palace. It was built around the original medieval dungeon. The palace and its park is a France Unesco world heritage sites since 1981.

Château de Versailles Unesco sites:

The Castle of  Versailles was the privilege residence of the French monarchy from the period of Louis XIV to Louis XVI. The Castle of Versailles is located 16km south west of Paris. It has been embellished by several generations of architects, sculptures, decorators and landscapers. Moreover Versailles was a model of how a royal residence should be in Europe, for more than a century.

The Bay of Mont Saint Michel Unesco sites:
