Marmottan-Monet Museum

This exhibition is the first retrospective of Laurencin to be held in a French museum. Marie Laurencin finds her place once more on the Parisian art scene, where she had been firmly established in her time. Matisse said of her “At least, here’s one that is not a warbler.” Some ninety works have been brought together; the great majority comes from the museum which Japanese patrons, Mr. Takano and his son Mr. Yoshizawa dedicated to her, after she spent nearly thirty years in Tokyo, Japan.
